Seamus Grant – Major Gifts Officer RI Europe Africa Office, Zurich
Seamus was born and raised in Derry on the north coast of Ireland. He left Ireland to study at
Sheffield Polytechnic, South Yorkshire which became Sheffield Hallam University while he was
studying there, leaving with a BA in Communications Studies.
Seamus has always been interested in community co-operation and after working and volunteering in
the Credit Union movement for 17 years in Leicester, north Nottingham and Ilkeston, he took on a
project development role with the University of Leicester for 9 years.
Seamus has been working with The Rotary Foundation since April 2023 focusing on Major Giving in
the 24 Districts that cover Rotary Great Britain & Ireland (Zones 19a and 20). He works with the
Endowment & Major Giving Team and the Regional Foundation Chair to better inform Rotarians on
the amazing projects and programmes that the Foundation operates, stewarding the current Donors
and to bust some of the misinformation and myths that have built up regarding the Foundation!
Seamus is particularly keen to promote Bequest giving to the Foundation Endowment to ensure the
same level of Global and District Grants for generations to come.
Seamus is a member of the Rotary Club of Leicester Impactor Group, which focuses on combating
food poverty, assisting with local children’s play facilities and domestic abuse accommodation
services and promoting health initiatives in Africa and the UK.
